Jim: This is from my first PRO Rally ever, the 1992 Sandhills Sand Blast. Its my front-wheel drive, 80hp, 1980 Subaru hatchback (since sold) - ex-Domino's delivery car. I bought it for $2K in 1983. My navigator was Howie Lyhte and we finished(!) 10th overall, 3rd in class. My goal was to finish without seriously breaking the car! You can see in this picture just how deep the sand can be - getting stuck was a constant worry. Here you can also see the 4 Hella lamps bolted onto the bumper, the spare tire in back, and the radio antenna on the roof.
